Description : This Swedish duo gives a punk interpretation of delta blues, something that has been tried successfully by many (notably The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion). There are lots of Swedish bands around who play rock'n'roll and its derivates: everything I heard coming from far north in this genre has always sounded too cold, artificial and aseptic to my ears. The blues should flow in your veins to be able to play it properly. Deltahead are no exception, but they show a fairly original songwriting, some strangeness that seems to come directly from a Tom Waits' album ("Why Don't We All Get Down?", "Crickets and Frogs"), and best of all, some stoner/BlackSabbath influences (in songs "Help Me", "This Piece of Machinery" and "Oh, No!"). Lots of rural instruments like washboards and slide guitars on here.
